The SKAstuds were formed in the summer of 2008.  Brett (Guitar) and Matt (Alto Sax) had been playing occasional Thursday night ska sets at The Gate in Sutton with Birmingham music legend Norman Haines (who wrote The Locomotive's 1960's ska classic 'Rudi's in Love').

It was after one of these sessions that Paul (Bass) approached Brett and Matt and suggested they should get together to form a reggae and ska band,   Pete (Vocals) was next on board, Paul having worked with him in bands in the past.  A chance encounter with Les (Paul Keys' dad) at The Gate led to Paul (Keys) joining in October 2008.

Paul (Keys) invited Roy (Drums) who has taken the sticks since February 2009.

Ollie our young trumpeter has joined in when he has been available since the summer of 2009.

Our most recent members of the band both joined in March 2010:  Annabel (trombone) a school friend of Matt and Brett joined to give the brass section what it has been missing, and finally, James (Sound Engineer) joined to provide his expertise to help with our mix.

So, The SKAstuds line up is:

Pete (Vocals), Paul (Bass), Brett (Guitar), Paul (Keys), Roy (Drums), Matt (Alto Sax), Ollie (Trumpet), Annabel (Trombone).... and James (Sound).
